Description
C1, a calcium-dependent component of the complement system, includes C1q, C1r, and C1s. C1q is made of 18 polypeptide chains: six A-chains, six B-chains, and six C-chains. These chains have a collagen-like region at the N-terminus and a globular region at the C-terminus. A deficiency in C1q is associated with lupus erythematosus and glomerulonephritis. This antibody specifically targets C1qA, the A-chain polypeptide of C1q.
