Claudin 18 (CLDN18) is part of the large claudin family of transmembrane proteins, which form tight junctions. CLDN18 is specifically expressed in the stomach and lungs. Abnormal CLDN18 expression is linked to gastric cancer, lung adenocarcinoma, and pancreatic tumors. CLDN18 has two spliced variants, CLDN18.1 (lung-specific) and CLDN18.2 (gastric-specific), the latter being a marker for gastric carcinoma.

To ensure the preservation of their functional properties, all reagents within this kit must be maintained at a temperature between 2°C and 8°C. Under these storage conditions, the kit will retain its effectiveness for a period of 6 to 12 months following receipt.
