Description
Desmosomal cadherins are integral to the function of desmosomes, which are essential for the adhesion of epithelial, myocardial, and other cell types. DSG2 is a transmembrane glycoprotein found in a wide range of tissues, including the heart, intestine, and epidermis. Mutations in DSG2 are associated with familial arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia (ARVD10) and susceptibility to dilated cardiomyopathy.
