Short Description
This complete IHC kit for GLUD1 offers a direct approach to staining, equipping users with reagents from antigen retrieval to slide mounting.
Description
Human glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) plays a central role in glutamate metabolism. It exists in two isoforms: one expressed in housekeeping tissues (GLUD1) and the other in nerve tissues (GLUD2). GDH catalyzes the interconversion of glutamate to alpha-ketoglutarate and ammonia, linking amino acid and carbohydrate metabolism. GLUD1 is thought to contribute to the formation of specific synapses in the hippocampus, such as those formed by the entorhinal cortex's projecting neurons.
