Description
Plakoglobin (γ-catenin) is a member of the Armadillo protein family, involved in cell adhesion, Wnt signaling, and nuclear translocation to bind LEF1. It is a component of desmosomes and adherens junctions in cardiomyocytes. Mutations in plakoglobin are associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia and Pemphigus vulgaris.
