Keratins are a large family of proteins forming the intermediate filament cytoskeleton of epithelial cells. Type I keratins, including K9-K23 and hair keratins Ha1-Ha8, are acidic, while Type II keratins (K1-K8 and Hb1-Hb6) are basic or neutral. KRT18 (CYK18, PIG46, K18) is a type I keratin found primarily in non-squamous epithelia and adenocarcinomas but not in squamous cell carcinomas.

To ensure the preservation of their functional properties, all reagents within this kit must be maintained at a temperature between 2°C and 8°C. Under these storage conditions, the kit will retain its effectiveness for a period of 6 to 12 months following receipt.
