Description
S100P is a small isoform (95 amino acids) of the S100 protein family, first isolated from human placenta. It is overexpressed in cancers like breast, colon, prostate, pancreatic, and lung carcinomas and is functionally implicated in carcinogenesis. S100P is widely expressed in normal and neoplastic tissues and may serve as a target for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in cancer.
