TUBB3, class III β-tubulin (Tuj1), is selectively expressed in testis and neurons of the central and peripheral nervous systems. It is widely used as a marker for neurons and is found to be aberrantly expressed in various non-neural tumors, making it a biomarker for cancer aggressiveness and poor chemotherapy response.
