This assay is to provide PC3-based In Vitro 8-OH-dG Assay (Oxidative Stress) to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
PC3
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
PC3 (PC-3) is a human prostate cancer cell line used in prostate cancer research and drug development. PC3 cells are useful in investigating biochemical changes in advanced prostate cancer cells and in assessing their response to chemotherapeutic agents. PC3 cells are also used to study viral infection in mammalian cells that exhibit an immune response.

Assay Name
In Vitro 8-OH-dG Assay (Oxidative Stress)
Short Description
PC3-cell based In Vitro 8-OH-dG Assay (Oxidative Stress)
Assay Description
8-Hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine (8-OH-dG) is another critical biomarker for oxidative stress. It is one of the major products generated in oxidative DNA damage by ROS. DNA oxidative damage ELISA kits are available to assess 8-OH-dG levels as an oxidative stress marker.
Assay Alternative Names
8-Hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine Assay
Assay Type
Oxidative Stress Assays
Assay Type Details
Disturbance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), free radicals and antioxidant mechanisms is defined as the oxidative stress, or more precisely, it is an imbalance between the oxidant and antioxidant state in cells. This imbalance can cause harmful effects to cells and biomolecules, which ultimately causes adverse effects in the whole organism. Oxidative imbalance can target important proteinsand lipids in cells, which can increase the risk of developing a cancer. On the other hand, increased ROS production in cancer cells by certain cancer drugs can also arrest cancer cell cycle and cause senescence and apoptosis through oxidative stress.
