This assay is to provide SNU-5-based In Vitro Mitotic Index Assay (Cell Proliferation) to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
SNU-5
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
SNU-5 was line derived in 1987 by J. Park and associates from ascites of a patient with poorly differentiated carcinoma of the stomach. The patient had previously received chemotherapy including 5-fluorouracil, doxorubicin and mitomycin-C.
Derived from metastatic site, ascites
Related Diseases
Gastric Carcinoma
Research Area

Assay Name
In Vitro Mitotic Index Assay (Cell Proliferation)
Short Description
SNU-5-cell based In Vitro Mitotic Index Assay (Cell Proliferation)
Assay Description
Mitotic index assay is one of the old assays used to determine the number of cells that are undergoing mitosis in a specified cell population using monoclonal antibodies specific for phosphorylated histone H3 (ser28). Phosphorylated histone H3 (ser28) is considered as a main marker for mitosis and this specific phosphorylation can be utilized to calculate the mitotic index in a specified cell population.
Assay Type
Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Type Details
Uncontrolled proliferation is one of the main features of cancer cells. Cell-based in vitro assays are employed to determine whether test molecules possess direct cytotoxic/antiproliferative effects in cancer cells.
Assay Subtype
Cell Proliferation Assay
Assay MOA
Cell-based Assays Based on DNA Synthesis
