TF-1 In Vitro MTT Assay (Cell Viability)

CAT#: ITS-1122-YF1682
Target Cell Organism: Human
Target Cell Name: TF-1
Assay Type: Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Overview
This assay is to provide TF-1-based In Vitro MTT Assay (Cell Viability) to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
TF-1
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
TF-1 erythroblasts are isolated from bone marrow derived from a 35-year-old Asian male with severe pancytopenia in 1987. The cells provide a good system for investigating the proliferation and differentiation of myeloid progenitor cells.

Assay Name
In Vitro MTT Assay (Cell Viability)
Short Description
TF-1-cell based In Vitro MTT Assay (Cell Viability)
Assay Description
The MTT (3-(4,5-dimeth ylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay is one of most commonly used assays for cancer drug screening. This assay has been very popular among cancer researchers as an initial assay in drug discovery. NAD(P)H-dependent oxidoreductase or dehydrogenases in viable cells can reduce MTT into purple-colored formazan, which can then be solubilized for spectrophotometric analysis.
Assay Alternative Names
MTT (3-(4,5-dimeth ylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) Assay
Assay Type
Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Type Details
Uncontrolled proliferation is one of the main features of cancer cells. Cell-based in vitro assays are employed to determine whether test molecules possess direct cytotoxic/antiproliferative effects in cancer cells.
Assay Subtype
Cell Viability Assay
Assay MOA
Cell-based Viability Assays Based on Cellular Enzymes and Proteins
