This product is a LNP prepared with ionizable lipid (DLin-MC3-DMA), helper lipid, cholesterol and PEGylated lipid, encapsulating Beta-galactosidase (β-Gal) mRNA. β-Gal, the protein product of the LacZ gene in Lactobacillus, catalyzes the conversion of β-galactosides to monosaccharides. It's a common marker gene for assessing transfection efficiency. The loaded β-Gal mRNA is modified with N1-methyl-pseudouridine to enhance expression and reduce immunogenicity. It is only for research purposes.
