NAA Services for Anti-Tropomyosin Antibodies

With integrated antibody development and engineering techniques, Creative Biolabs successfully established a natural autoantibody (NAA) platform to provide either individual service modules or fully comprehensive service. Our high-quality NAA services on multiple hot diagnostics against a variety of disease can meet the needs of our valued clients. Now we provide a full range of anti-tropomyosin marker services for the myocarditis disease diagnosis.

Background of Anti-tropomyosin Antibodies

Tropomyosins are a class of regulatory protein, which involved in the regulating of actin filaments in cells. Tropomyosins have been identified in various cytoskeleton systems. As an actin-binding protein, tropomyosin exerts significant roles in muscle contraction (both skeletal muscle and smooth muscle) and cytoskeleton function. Abnormal expression of tropomyosin protein is associated with a range of diseases, such as cancers, muscle disease, autoimmune disease, and cardiac disease. Tropomyosin autoantibodies induced by abnormal tropomyosin expression are also closely related to these diseases, especially to cardiac disease.

The Role of Anti-tropomyosin Antibodies in Myocarditis

In a previous study, sera from patients with myocarditis/dilated cardiomyopathy and healthy blood donors were tested by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) method for the presence of autoantibodies against tropomyosin, myosin. Results showed that anti-tropomyosin IgG/IgM autoantibodies present a high level in patients with myocarditis. It has also been shown that patients with dilated cardiomyopathy had a thicker interventricular septum thickness, systolic and diastolic, which was associated with the presence of autoantibodies against tropomyosin. In addition, research results demonstrated that there is a correlation between anti-tropomyosin antibodies and anti-myosin antibodies in patients with heart diseases. Thus, all of the data revealed that the detection of these autoantibodies can be a useful tool for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with myocarditis/dilated cardiomyopathy.
