Customized nanocarriers, including gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), quantum dots (QDs), or magnetic nanoparticles (IONPs), are surface-modified with specific antibodies or aptamers, achieving ultra-high specificity enrichment of disease markers.
Targeting Delivery for Marker Detection
Accurate diagnosis is the cornerstone of successful treatment. The core challenge in marker detection and molecular imaging is the efficient, specific enrichment of diagnostic probes at lesion sites. This is necessary to capture weak, early-stage signals and significantly boost the signal-to-noise ratio. Creative Biolabs provides targeted delivery technology services focused on engineering nanoprobes, offering innovative solutions to enhance diagnostic sensitivity, improve imaging contrast, and accelerate precision diagnostics and theranostics development.

What is Targeted Delivery?
In molecular diagnostics, "targeted delivery" is the technological guarantee for achieving high-precision diagnosis. It refers to engineered nanocarriers that specifically and efficiently enrich diagnostic probes at lesion tissues or specific biomarkers.
Enhanced Enrichment: Encapsulating diagnostic probes (such as contrast agents and fluorescent dyes) and modifying them with targeting ligands (such as aptamers and peptides) to achieve high enrichment at specific biomarkers or lesion tissues.
Background Signal Elimination: Carrier design accelerates probe clearance from non-target tissues, thereby minimizing background signal and significantly improving signal-to-noise ratio and imaging contrast.
Signal Amplification and Response: Designing smart probes to amplify detection signals in response to the tumor microenvironment (such as low pH or specific enzymes), enabling the detection of small lesions.
Applications for Marker Detection
The delivery platform fully supports key innovations in diagnostics and imaging:
Early Cancer Molecular Imaging Enhancement
Targeted delivery of MRI, PET, or fluorescent contrast agents to tumor-specific receptors, achieving ultra-high sensitivity detection and boundary identification of early-stage, small tumors.
Real-time monitoring of treatment response
Intelligent biosensors or therapeutic/diagnostic (theranostics) carriers are delivered for real-time monitoring of drug distribution in vivo and lesion response to treatment.
Highly efficient in vitro detection of disease biomarkers
Nanoparticles are optimized for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) reagents to enhance the capture and signal amplification of low-abundance circulating biomarkers such as ctDNA and exosomes.
Targeted diagnosis of inflammation and infection
Probes are delivered to inflammatory cells or pathogens for non-invasive diagnosis of infection sites and inflammation severity.

Delivery Challenges of Marker Detection
- Low Signal-to-Noise Ratio & Background Interference: Untargeted probes exhibit uneven biodistribution, leading to high systemic background signals that obscure weak lesion signals in complex matrices, making it difficult to distinguish true signals.
- Insufficient Sensitivity: For early-stage diseases or low-abundance biomarkers, such as circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), existing probes lack the necessary Limits of Detection (LOD) for accurate and reliable detection.
- Biological Barrier Impedance: Accessing markers protected by biological barriers, notably the Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) for neurological targets, remains a massive hurdle in probe delivery.
- Imaging Contrast and Penetration Depth: Maintaining high probe contrast and achieving effective light signal penetration in deep tissues poses a major challenge for precise micrometastases detection.
