ODN 2395, a Class C Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist effective in both human and murine models, elicits a dual immunostimulatory effect. It potently activates plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), driving high levels of interferon-alpha (IFN-α) production, while simultaneously stimulating B cells. This unique combination of properties, characteristic of Class C ODNs, bridges the functional attributes of both Class A and Class B ODNs. Consequently, ODN 2395 effectively triggers robust IFN-α release from pDCs and potent B cell activation, making it a valuable tool for research and potential therapeutic applications.
