Ovalbumin Peptide OVA (323-339) (VCar-Ly014)
Ovalbumin peptide OVA (323-339), a MHC class II peptide.
Type
Self-assembling Peptides
Applications
Not only serve as carrier protein but also as adjuvants.
Introduction
Ovalbumin (OVA) is the main protein found in egg white and is an antigen that can be used to induce cystitis. It displays sequence and three-dimensional homology to the serpin super family. OVA 323-339 encompasses an allergenic and antigenic epitope of the ovalbumin protein and can bind to I-A(d) Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) class II protein. It has been used extensively to study the nature of class II MHC-peptide binding and T-cell activation.
