Introduction
Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) is the causative agent of the viral disease - Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. The disease manifests as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, muscle pain and skin bleeding. CCHFV belongs to the Orthonairovirus genus of the Nairoviridae family and is an RNA virus. The virions are between 80 and 120 nanometers in diameter and contain three copies of the genome with a 5 nm thick envelope. The genome of the virus encodes RNA polymerase, envelope glycoprotein, and nucleocapsid protein.
