Antigen Information
Introduction
Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) belongs to Retroviridae family and the host of the virus is a cat. Through saliva and close contact, cats are able to spread the virus among themselves. There is ample evidence that FeLV cannot spread between dogs and humans. The genome of FeLV is RNA, containing 5' and 3' LTRs and encoding three proteins, the Pol enzyme, the Env envelope protein and the structural protein Gag. None of the existing FeLV vaccines provide 100% protection, and most FeLV vaccinations are accompanied by adverse reactions.
