Lymphocytic choriomeningitis mammarenavirus (LCMV) belongs to the family Arenaviridae. LCMV Armstrong and LCMV Clone 13 are the most widely used strains of LCMV. LCMV is the causative agent of lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCM), a rodent-borne viral infectious disease. Systems include fever, lack of appetite, headache, muscle aches, malaise, nausea, and/or vomiting. The central nervous system infections may result in temporary or permanent neurological damage. The infection can be detected through a blood test.
