Introduction
The Saponin Vaccine Adjuvant, derived from water-soluble components of saponins from the South American Quillaja Saponaria Molina tree, is widely used in veterinary vaccines to enhance immunogenicity. It promotes strong T-dependent, cytotoxic CD8+ lymphocyte responses and boosts immune reactions to mucosal antigens. When combined with cholesterol and phospholipids to form ISCOMs, it stimulates both cell-mediated and humoral immune responses against various viral, bacterial, parasitic, and tumor antigens.
