Survivin-targeted Immunotherapeutic Cancer Vaccine

Cancer is still the second biggest threat to human health, and research on cancer has been hot for decades. Various types of treatments have shown their effectiveness to some extent, but there are also some unsatisfactory places. Creative Biolabs has extensive experience in vaccine development and has a dedicated cancer vaccine development team. After more than ten years of research and experimentation, we have established a variety of effective cancer vaccine development strategies. One of them is to design a cancer vaccine with survivin as a target.

Background

In the field of cancer treatment, immunotherapy as a new concept of cancer therapy has carried a number of achievements and shines in this field, and cancer vaccines as a research hotspot have also begun to emerge. Cancer vaccines not only have the preventive effects of common vaccines, such as cervical cancer vaccines, but also can be used as therapeutic vaccines to activate the body's immune system and kill tumor cells. The cancer vaccines currently under investigation include cell vaccines, nucleic acid vaccines, protein or peptide vaccines, and genetically engineered vector vaccines. The basic principle of these vaccines is to present tumor antigens and to activate the body's own immune system, and then allow the immune system's innate ability to clear cancer cells, thus avoiding damage to normal cells and tissues.

Survivin - A Promising Cancer Antigen

Survivin is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) protein family, which plays an important role in regulating mitosis and apoptosis inhibition, and is also involved in certain physiological and pathological processes such as cell carcinogenesis. As a protein that inhibits apoptosis, survivin is widely expressed in many malignant tumors, but its expression level is very low in normal tissues. Studies have shown that overexpression of survivin is the reason why cancer cells could break through the cell cycle checkpoint and achieve abnormal progression. Therefore, survivin has a dual role in regulating cell apoptosis and mitosis.

In addition, an in-depth study of survivin found that survivin has some additional advantages and is a promising cancer target. These features include a) disabling survivin compromises signaling networks that can affect tumor maintenance. b) a unique antigen target that can be used as a cancer vaccine. c) survivin antagonists may affect cancer stem cells, for a signaling pathway that regulates survivin expression also plays an important role in stem cells. d) survivin inhibitors have effects on cancerous cells and endothelial cells in tumors. e) targeting survivin has no effect on normal cells or tissues.

In view of the fact that survivin is a cancer antigen with unique advantages, it can be used as a target to design different types of cancer vaccines, such as peptide vaccines. Creative Biolabs has used survivin as a target to conduct extensive trials and evaluations on various types of cancer vaccines. The results show that survivin can exert good anticancer effects as an antigen.

Creative Biolabs is a pioneer and leader in the field of vaccines, especially in the field of cancer vaccines. Based on the latest research progress in the current scientific community, we have conducted extensive and in-depth exploration and experimentation and accumulated a wealth of experience. We believe that we can help our clients to complete their projects efficiently!
