Periostin (POSTN, PN) is a 90-kDa secreted protein involved in bone, tooth, and heart development and function. It is overexpressed in various cancers, including lung, ovary, breast, and colon cancers. Periostin is essential for cancer stem cell maintenance and is expressed by fibroblasts in normal and tumor tissues.
