Target Information
Canine Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α) is a key proinflammatory cytokine produced primarily by activated macrophages, T cells, and natural killer cells. It plays a central role in regulating immune responses, inflammation, and apoptosis. In dogs, TNF-α is involved in the pathogenesis of various infectious, autoimmune, and inflammatory diseases, including canine parvovirus infection, sepsis, arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease. Elevated TNF-α levels are also associated with tissue injury and chronic inflammation. Due to its broad biological activities, TNF-α is an important biomarker and therapeutic target in veterinary immunology, particularly for evaluating immune activation and the efficacy of anti-inflammatory or immunomodulatory treatments.
