Why Focus on GM-CSF?
GM-CSF is a cytokine that stimulates the production and activation of granulocytes and macrophages, key players in inflammation. While essential for host defense, dysregulated GM-CSF activity contributes to pathological inflammation. In dogs, GM-CSF has been implicated in immune-mediated polyarthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and certain dermatological conditions like atopic dermatitis.
