Lacto-N-fucopentaose III (LNFP III) is a specific pentasaccharide belonging to the family of Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs). Found in human breast milk, this fucosylated carbohydrate is a prebiotic that is not digested by the infant but is instead fermented by beneficial gut bacteria, contributing to a healthy gut microbiome.
