Background

DNA methylation is one of the most important epigenomic types, since the DNA methylation patterns are highly associated with the genomic instability and expression level of tumor oncogenes, resulting in tumor transformation, growth promotion and metastasis. In addition, DNA methylation changes in cancer samples has been identified to be the tumor biomarkers for early detection, stage and prognosis evaluation in clinical settings. Furthermore, it has been verified that DNA methylation patterns are important in mediating cancer drug resistance or sensitivity. Thus, the in-depth study of cancer epigenomics can provide clues for cancer initiation and progression, as well as potential cancer treatments. Most well-annotated clinical samples are saved as FFPE tissues. However, the DNA in FFPE tissue is damaged and fragmented because of the fixation and storage method. To address this limitation, our scientists have established advanced platforms to perform epigenomic sequencing services for FFPE tissues.

To improve the poor-quality DNA of FFPE tissue, our scientists have developed specific DNA restoration method to ensure the DNA quality and amount. We are committed to providing robust, accurate and reproducible results with FFPE tissue-derived DNA, which are comparable to those obtained from fresh frozen (FF) tissue. Our epigenomic sequencing services for FFPE tissues include whole genome-wide DNA methylation sequencing and ChIP sequencing.
