Traditional Amebocyte Lysate (AL) formulations contain two distinct activation cascades: the Factor C pathway and the Factor G pathway. The Fungi (1,3)-β-D-Glucan Assay Kit provides a rapid, highly sensitive, and quantitative solution to detect circulating (1-3)-beta-D-glucan (BDG) in human plasma or serum. By eliminating Factor C cross-reactivity, our kit isolates the Factor G pathway. When BDG binds to the Factor G subunit, it initiates an enzymatic amplification cascade that hydrolyzes a specific substrate, generating a measurable optical change proportional to the fungal burden in the sample.
