Traditional LAL assays rely on a crude biological cascade consisting of multiple zymogens (Factor C, Factor B, and Proclotting Enzyme). While effective, this natural cascade introduces biochemical background noise and unwanted sensitivity to environmental contaminants. Our Recombinant Factor C (rFC) Endotoxin Detection Kit, 0.005 - 5 EU/mL (ES-0526-YC201) simplifies this mechanism through targeted genetic engineering. By expressing the specific gene sequence for Factor C, we have created a direct, highly controlled analytical system. The Endpoint Fluorescence Advantage When endotoxin binds to the recombinant Factor C protein, it induces a conformational change that activates its localized protease function. This active enzyme directly cleaves a synthetic, pre-optimized fluorogenic substrate included in the assay mixture. Once cleaved, the substrate emits a distinct fluorescent signal that is continuously or end-point measured using a standard fluorescence microplate reader at an excitation wavelength of 380 nm and an emission wavelength of 440 nm. The intensity of the generated signal is directly proportional to the exact concentration of endotoxin present in the sample.
