Product Overview

In the validation of parenteral pharmaceuticals and medical devices, the Monocyte Activation Test (MAT) has emerged as the definitive, regulatory-preferred replacement for the rabbit pyrogen test. However, the accuracy of a MAT assay is only as good as its downstream detection system. Because activated human monocytes secrete Interleukin-6 (IL-6) in exact proportion to the pyrogenic load, a reliable quantification method is mandatory.
The Human IL-6 Rapid ELISA Kit is a highly optimized, dual-component system engineered precisely for this purpose. Combining Set A (antibody pairs and standards) and Set B (optimized buffers, substrates, and detection reagents), this kit provides reagents required to execute 288 high-sensitivity tests (3 x 96-well plates). The kit is paired with our standard MAT Kit or MAT Human Serum (HS) Kit for pyrogen and endotoxin quantification.
