Some are derived from cynomolgus monkeys' spleen by the common immortalization method of over-expressing certain virus genes. In a gelatin-pre-coated tissue culture flask, these cells are cultured until the third passage and then transferred in vials for cryopreservation. You can rethaw and expand them for more than ten passages at a split ratio of 1:2 in a suitable medium.
