This product is an antibody that was generated by immunizing rabbit against an internal region of PNKP (Human). It is used only in in vitro assays.

Introduction: Anti-human Polynucleotide Kinase Mouse Monoclonal Antibody recognizes polynucleotide kinase (PNK), a 57 kDa nuclear enzyme implicated in DNA strand repair processes that occur during DNA replication and recombination, or in response to DNA damaging agents. PNK targets the DNA 5'-hydroxy and 3'-phosphate termini for phosphorylation and dephosphorylation events. During strand breakage in human cells, normal PNK associates with other nuclear proteins to prepare the DNA termini for the enzymatic actions of DNA polymerase-beta and DNA ligase III. PNK is a key functional component in maintaining the genetic stability of human cells.
