This product is an antibody that was generated by immunizing rabbit against recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-275 of human STX4 (NP_004595.2). It is used only in in vitro assays.
Introduction:
Syntaxin 4 is a plasma membrane t-SNARE that mediates docking of transport vesicles. Syntaxin 4 is necessary for the translocation of SLC2A4 from intracellular vesicles to the plasma membrane. Together with STXB3 and VAMP2, Syntaxin 4 may also play a role in docking/fusion of intracellular GLUT4-containing vesicles with the cell surface in adipocytes. Syntaxin 4 may also play a role in docking of synaptic vesicles at presynaptic active zones.
