This product is an antibody that was generated by immunizing rabbit against human leukocytes. It is used only in in vitro assays.

Introduction: C5aR1, also known as CD88, is a C5a Anaphylatoxin Receptor that mediates the effects of one of the most potent chemotactic agents known. C5aR1 has been implicated in asthma, and its expression has been reported in myeloid blood cells, brain, liver, lung, spleen, heart, kidney, and intestinal tract. C5aR1 is the receptor for the chemotactic and inflammatory peptide anaphylatoxin C5a. Functionally, C5aR1 stimulates chemotaxis, granule enzyme release and superoxide anion production. C5aR1 is also a component of the classical pathway of the complement cascade; it may be involved with tissue injury associated with ischemia or sepsis and it may be a component of the membrane attack complex. Diseases associated with C5aR1 include Mannose-Binding Lectin Deficiency and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.

  • C5AR1 Polyclonal Antibody (NHP-AB313) Data Sheet: Detailed information. datasheet
  1. Q 1: How specific is the C5AR1 Polyclonal Antibody for detecting C5AR1 in different species?

A: The specificity of the C5AR1 Polyclonal Antibody for detecting C5AR1 across various species depends on the antibody's epitope recognition. It's essential to verify if the antibody has been validated for cross-reactivity in species of interest. Confirm this data with the supplier's validation studies or inquire directly with customer support.

  2. Q 2: What are the storage conditions recommended for the C5AR1 Polyclonal Antibody?

A: The C5AR1 Polyclonal Antibody should ideally be stored at -20°C or -80°C. For short-term storage (up to one month), it can be kept at 4°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as they can impact the integrity of the antibody.

  3. Q 3: Can the C5AR1 Polyclonal Antibody be used for flow cytometry applications?

A: The usability of the C5AR1 Polyclonal Antibody in flow cytometry depends on its validation and the presence of specific protocols. Check the product datasheet or contact technical support for details regarding flow cytometry compatibility. If not validated, empirical testing might be required.
