This compound is a linker for bioconjugation. It is a PEG linker comprised of an octadecanedioic acid and a glutamic acid, which is also protected by a terminal t-butyl ester, with a terminal t-butyl ester and an azide. The t-butyl protected carboxyl groups can be deprotected under acidic conditions. Glutamic acid is an α-amino acid that is used in the biosynthesis of proteins. The azide group can react with alkyne, BCN, DBCO via Click Chemistry to yield a stable triazole linkage.
