NAA Associated Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)

Natural autoantibodies (NAA) have shown significantly close associations with the pathogenesis and therapy of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Creative Biolabs is a leading service provider in the field of NAA detection and profiling. We have a professional expert team with extensive experience and advanced technology platforms to offer a full range of NAA detection and profiling services targeting systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

What Is SLE?

SLE is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue and organs in many parts of the body. This disease affects many body organs and systems including joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs. Symptoms of the disease vary from person to person but share some common symptoms. Additionally, it is difficult to diagnose SLE because of its similar signs and symptoms to other autoimmune diseases. Currently, the incidence of SLE between countries ranges from 20 to 70 per 100,000 people. Women of childbearing age are more sensitive than men with about nine times.

Symptoms of SLE

Symptoms vary between people and may be mild or severe, and may be temporary or permanent. The symptoms of SLE depend on which body system is affected by the disease. The most common symptoms include:

What Is the Cause of SLE?

The cause of SLE is not clearly known. It may be linked to the following factors:

How to Diagnose SLE?

SLE diagnosis may be difficult and is based on a combination of symptoms and laboratory tests. The approach of SLE diagnosis including:

➢ A physical examination - to check the typical signs and symptoms of lupus
➢ Blood tests - such as natural autoantibody tests and a complete blood count
➢ A urinalysis
➢ A chest X-ray

NAA tests are widely used for autoimmune disorders including SLE. For example, anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) is present in nearly everybody with active lupus. ANA tests can be regarded as a screening tool for SLE. Besides, DNA is an important component that makes up the body's genetic code. 75%-90% of people with lupus have a positive anti-dsDNA test. The following is the key NAA markers associated with SLE.

How to Treat SLE?

There is no effective cure for SLE. Currently, the SLE treatment is to ease symptoms. The therapeutic drugs may include:

➢ Anti-inflammatory medications
➢ Steroid creams
➢ Corticosteroids
➢ Antimalarial drugs
➢ Disease-modifying drugs or targeted immune system agents for more severe cases

In addition, a good diet and lifestyle habits may also help to relieve symptoms such as eating a well-balanced diet and getting regular exercise.
