Antigen Detail

TargetDLK1
DescriptionProtein delta homolog 1 is a protein encoded by the DLK1 gene in humans.

It is expressed as a transmembrane protein, but the soluble form that can be cleaved by ADAM17 is active in inhibiting adipogenesis and differentiation of preadipocytes into adipocytes.

It is a member of the EGF-like homologous protein family.

This gene is part of the Dlk1-DIO3 imprinting control region and is a gene involved in the epigenetic process, which results in some genes being regulated according to their parental origin.

Such imprinted genes are necessary for placenta formation and the development of cell lineages (such as those derived from mesoderm and ectoderm).
