Protection Effect Analysis Service

Introduction of Protection Effect Analysis

The ultimate mission of engineering B cells immunotherapy is to provide robust and durable protection against pathogen infections. Such protection is mainly mediated by two "walls", which are long-lived plasma cells and memory B cells (shown in Fig.1). After a series of gene editing, expansion, transplantation, and differentiation, assessment of whether the edited B cells could form a lifelong protection immunity is an imperative and inevitable need. Creative Biolabs offers the service of protection effect analysis of edited B cells in vitro and in vivo for our customers worldwide.

Published Data

Paper Title: B cells engineered to express pathogen-specific antibodies protect against infection

Technology: CRISPR/Cas9; Protection Effect Analysis

Subjects: RAMOS B cells and Primary human B cells

Journal: Science Immunology

Published: 2019

Background: Many crucial infections such as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), influenza and Epstein Barr virus (EBV) are not yet available to get effective vaccines inducing lifelong protection despite decades of research.

Results: B cells engineered to express an antibody resulted in durable, potent, and stable protection against RSV infection in immunodeficient RAG1−/− mice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When protection effect analysis is needed in B cell engineering immunotherapy?

A: It is needed when you quantify the protective ability and protective range of the engineered B cells. It is needed when you verify whether the engineered B cells could provide long-term protection in animals without side effects.
