Therapeutic Exosomes for Lung Diseases

Lung disease (LDs) has become a high incidence disease worldwide. Current drug therapy and surgical treatment still cannot completely cure the patient. Therefore, there is an urgent need for new drugs or new therapeutic modalities to treat LDs. Numerous studies have found that natural exosomes or engineered exosomes can treat lung diseases. Creative Biolabs has been focusing on the field of exosomes and can provide customers with technical services related to exosomes.

Lung Diseases (LDs)

The lungs are the main organs of the respiratory system and are responsible for the exchange of gases between the human body and the outside world. LDs is a disease of the lung itself, which belongs to the respiratory system disease. Symptoms of LDs are usually shortness of breath, persistent cough, wheezing, blood in the sputum, chest pain, etc. Most LDs is caused by air pollution, smoking, bacterial infection, etc. There are four main categories of lung diseases, including infectious diseases, chronic lung diseases (CLDs), interstitial lung diseases, and lung cancer. At present, the prevalence of LDs has been at the forefront. The mortality and morbidity of LDs are on the rise. Therefore, the situation of LDs is not optimistic.

Therapeutic Exosomes for Chronic Lung Disease (CLDs)

CLDs is the cause of millions of deaths worldwide each year. Existing treatments are far from enough, and more efficient and safer treatments for CLDs are urgently needed. In recent decades of exploration, stem cell therapy came into being. Although stem cells have the effect of regulating immunity, promoting regeneration, and are anti-inflammatory. But studies have found that stem cell therapy carries a risk of tumorigenesis and that culturing and storing stem cells is very difficult. This results in enormous costs for stem cell research and treatment. Interestingly, stem cells have powerful paracrine effects. Most scientists support the idea that the powerful therapeutic effects of stem cells depend primarily on the exosomes they release. Numerous studies have found that some natural stem cell exosomes or engineered exosomes can improve CLDs by injection or inhalation therapy.

Many therapeutic exosomes have been found to significantly treat CLDs by direct therapy or as drug delivery vehicles. Some of these candidate exosomal drugs have entered into clinical trials. These therapeutic exosomes mainly include the following four aspects.

Creative Biolabs has been focusing on the development of exosome drugs for the treatment of LDs over years. We can provide a full range of one-stop services, including exosome extraction, functional modification, loading, and functional verification. Our professional scientists can follow up on the client's project to the client's satisfaction. Please feel free to contact us with your ideas or needs.
