Description
This is a quaternary ammonium derivative of EDC, making it a water-soluble carbodiimide with a permanent positive charge. Like EDC, it activates carboxyl groups to facilitate their conjugation to primary amines. Its positive charge may alter its solubility and interaction with anionic polymers or surfaces. It is used for amide bond formation, protein modification, and bioconjugation in aqueous buffers.
