β-Alanine tert-butyl Ester Hydrochloride Heterobifunctional Crosslinker (CAT#: OLY-1023-YS112)
Datasheet MSDSCas No.: 58620-93-2
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a simple, heterobifunctional building block. It consists of a primary amine (protected as an HCl salt for stability) and a t-butyl (OtBu) ester-protected carboxylic acid, separated by a short C3 (β-alanine) spacer. The primary amine is available for immediate conjugation (e.g., to an NHS ester). The t-butyl ester provides robust, acid-labile protection for the carboxylic acid. This allows for selective deprotection using acid (e.g., TFA) to reveal the free carboxyl for a subsequent, orthogonal coupling step (e.g., via EDC activation).
