PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a heterobifunctional, photo-reactive crosslinker for photoaffinity labeling. It features an amine-reactive N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester and a photo-activatable benzophenone group. In a two-step application, the NHS ester first reacts with a primary amine on a 'bait' molecule (e.g., a ligand) in the dark. This probe is then incubated with its 'prey' target. Upon activation with long-wave UV light (approx. 350 nm), the benzophenone group non-selectively inserts into nearby C-H bonds, forming a stable, covalent crosslink to permanently capture transient molecular interactions.
