PRODUCT INFORMATION

Description
Synonyms: 3',6'-Dihydroxy-3-oxo-N-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)-3H-spiro[isobenzofuran-1,9'-xanthene]-5-carboxamide. This is a derivative of the bright, green-fluorescent dye 5-FAM (fluorescein). It is functionalized with a terminal alkyne group. This makes it a key reagent for 'Click Chemistry.' It is used to fluorescently label biomolecules (e.g., proteins, nucleic acids, or glycans) that have been metabolically or chemically tagged with an azide group, via the highly specific Copper(I)-catalyzed Alkyne-Azide Cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction.
