PRODUCT INFORMATION

Description
Synonyms: 4,4-Difluoro-5,7-dimethyl-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene-3-propionic Acid. This is the free-acid form of a BODIPY (BDP) fluorophore, which has fluorescein-like (FL) spectral properties (bright green emission, ~503/512 nm). BODIPY dyes are known for their high quantum yield and photostability. The terminal propionic acid is the reactive handle, which can be activated (e.g., using EDC/NHS) to covalently label primary amines on proteins, peptides, or other biomolecules. It is a stable alternative to fluorescein.
