This is a hydrophilic, aldehyde/ketone-reactive biotinylation reagent with a short spacer. It features a terminal hydrazide group for specific conjugation to carbonyls (e.g., on periodate-oxidized glycans). The 2-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer enhances aqueous solubility while providing a minimal, flexible linkage. It is an alternative to Biotin-PEG4-hydrazide for applications where a shorter distance between the biotin and the target molecule is desired.
