PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a hydrophilic, aldehyde/ketone-reactive biotinylation reagent. It features a terminal hydrazide group that specifically reacts with carbonyls (aldehydes, ketones) at acidic pH to form a stable hydrazone bond. It is commonly used to label oxidized glycoproteins (e.g., on cell surfaces or on purified antibodies). The 4-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer is hydrophilic, which improves reagent solubility in aqueous buffers and reduces steric hindrance, ensuring efficient access of avidin/streptavidin to the biotin label.
