PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is a reagent for copper-free 'Click Chemistry.' It features an amine-reactive N-hydroxysuccinimidyl (NHS) carbonate and a strained cyclooctyne (endo-BCN). The NHS carbonate reacts efficiently with primary amines (lysines) at basic pH to form a stable carbamate linkage, attaching the BCN handle to a biomolecule. The BCN moiety is a highly reactive strained alkyne. It is most commonly used as a dienophile in Inverse-Electron-Demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) reactions, where it couples rapidly and specifically with tetrazine-functionalized molecules. This copper-free ligation is ideal for in vivo and cellular labeling.
