PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
Synonyms: 4-Nitro-7-piperazinobenzofurazan / 4-Nitro-7-piperazino-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole. NBD-PZ is a fluorescent derivatizing agent. The NBD fluorophore is green-yellow and environmentally sensitive. The piperazine group contains a secondary amine that can be coupled to carboxylic acids using carbodiimide activators (like EDC). It is primarily used in analytical chemistry (e.g., HPLC) to pre-column label and quantify molecules containing carboxyl groups, such as fatty acids, by rendering them fluorescent.
