PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
This is the pyrene fluorophore functionalized with a terminal alkyne. This makes it a key reagent for 'Click Chemistry.' It is used to label azide-functionalized biomolecules via the Copper(I)-catalyzed Alkyne-Azide Cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction. This allows the unique photophysical properties of pyrene (long lifetime, excimer formation) to be incorporated with high specificity, ideal for probing intermolecular distances.
