PRODUCT INFORMATION

Description
This is an amine-reactive biotinylation reagent. It features an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester that reacts efficiently with primary amines (e.g., lysine residues or the N-terminus of proteins) at pH 7.0-9.0. The "Long Chain" (LC) spacer (6-carbon aminocaproyl) provides a 15.7 Å arm. This spacer is essential for overcoming steric hindrance, allowing the bound biotin to be readily detected by avidin or streptavidin conjugates. It is widely used for labeling proteins, peptides, and amine-modified oligonucleotides.
