PRODUCT INFORMATION
Description
N-Succinimidyl Methacrylate is a heterobifunctional monomer used to create functional polymers and hydrogels. It contains a methacrylate group, which can undergo free-radical polymerization. It also features an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester, which is highly reactive towards primary amines. By incorporating this monomer into a polymer chain, one can create materials (e.g., hydrogels, nanoparticles, or functionalized surfaces) that are decorated with amine-reactive handles. These are widely used to covalently immobilize proteins, peptides, or antibodies for biosensors, affinity chromatography, and tissue engineering.
